On a recent day in Haiti, myself, our supplies coordinator, Tim, and one of our translators named Obed started the day by going to buy food for the people. We left the house at 8:15am. We bought a lot of rice, beans, and oil. It took us an hour to get to the market. After we got the food, we went and exchanged money. By the time we got all this done we barely had enough time to pick up a girl from the airport at 12:00. Sometimes in Haiti one is lucky enough to get one thing done in the span of 4 hours due to the traffic. So we got to the airport just in time. So we thought. The girl's flight was delayed and did not arrive until 1:45pm. I was able to slip into the airport hanger and found her around 2:00pm. All the luggage arrived on the next flight and so we had to wait another 45minutes to an hour before the plane landed. It took them over an hour before they unloaded the luggage. When the luggage was unloaded her's was not found. We finally got back to the house at 4:30pm. So at this point I was more than a little frustrated having wasted so much time. I also missed lunch and I am pretty sure I was dehydrated as well, seeing how I had been standing outside and not having had anything to drink since the morning.

   About 5:30pm I got a call from one of the other leaders saying the truck that they were driving had broken down and that I might have to come and get them. They tried working on it but were unable to get it fixed so I went out with a couple of guys at 6:30pm to go and help them. When we got to the place where the truck was we found that they had several Haitians trying to help them get the vehicle working. The power steering belt had come off and the battery was dead. Everyone started working on the vehicle while I started talking to two Haitian youth. They spoke only Creole. I have picked up the very basic sentences in Creole and tried to start up some conversations with them. After getting their names (which I don't remember) I felt led to share the gospel with them and so I grabbed our translator, Obed and asked if he would translate for me and he said he would. So through Obed I shared the gospel with them. Both guys knelt in the street and placed their trust in Christ's death and resurrection for their sins. It was an awesome moment!!

   After the truck got fixed I shared the gospel to the rest of the Haitians but to my knowledge no one else placed their trust in Christ. On our way home the truck broke down one more time but we were able to fix it again and got it home about 10:30pm. Despite all the obstacles and stress, two people came to Christ and it was worth all the problems of the day. I want to encourage everyone when your struggling and your having a tough day get ready because God is going to do a mighty work if you keep fighting and are prepared. Galatians 6:9 – And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we do not lose heart.
